COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Go Conscious Earth supports long-term sustainable practices with measurable results within the communities we serve. We help foster understanding and adherence to agreements that protect the natural world while maintaining the cultural traditions of forest-dependent people.
A Broader Understanding for a Broader Community
In order to fulfill our mission to conserve rainforest and protect imperiled wildlife, we work diligently with local people to increase awareness, knowledge, and understanding about the devastating severe impacts of overfishing, deforestation, species endangerment and extinctions, overpopulation, and global climate change.
Community education is integral to every stage of successful Community Forestry Concession program development. It is the framework that ensures all community members are informed of their rights and included in decision making processes.
Separate focus groups for women and indigenous Batwa communities ensure that marginalized members of the broader community have the opportunity to safely voice their needs and concerns, as fully empowered, equal members of the Community Forest Concession.
